Welcome

April 21, 2019 Posted by Admin

Hello Brothers,

I hope the spring is going well so far for everyone.

I’d like to wish everyone a happy National Alumni Day. The Eta Nu chapter is hosting a bowling/happy hour event on Thursday, April 25 at Tropicana Lanes (6pm). Our own celebration will take place at Blackthorn Pub and Pizza on Sunday, April 28th (6:30pm).

I hope you’re able to participate in the Leadership Foundation’s annual 4.25 Drive. Make a gift (in any amount) to the Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation for National Alumni Day. The donation page is located here, and there will be plenty of publicity throughout the day on social media channels, under the hashtag #DSP425.

We’ll soon be announcing the date and location for our annual Summer Meeting and Elections. If anyone is interested in running for executive board positions, please contact me at your convenience.

And in case you missed it, Delta Sigma Pi is digitizing past editions of The DELTASIG as part of an online archive. SLAC, based upon the initial efforts of brothers Lou Maull and Matt Hudson, reached an agreement to make a donation towards the cost of resources necessary to digitize the Fraternity’s historical publications.

Based on the chapter’s authorization at our winter 2016 chapter meeting, I and the executive board agreed to the total and presented our check to the Fraternity in late July. Here’s a little more detailed excerpt from the national website:

Eighty-five volumes of the magazine were dropped off in July to NPC, Inc. Integrated Print & Digital Solutions in Claysburg, Pennsylvania. NPC also prints The DELTASIG magazine. They will use a v-shaped scanner to archive approximately 12,370 pages. Once complete, users will be able search through stories dating back to 1921. This project would not be possible without the support of the St. Louis Alumni Chapter.

Thank you to our membership for being supportive of this donation, as well as your hard work throughout the years for us to be in this position financially. This was a very cool opportunity to give back to the fraternity in such a beneficial way.
