SLAC Offices

At our annual Summer Meeting in June, these offices are up for election. Please read the following descriptions from our bylaws and email president@dspstl.org if interested in running, or if you’d like further information:

The President shall be the chief executive of this Chapter and shall preside over meetings of the Board and all regular or special membership meetings of this Chapter. He shall see that the Officers and Committee Chairmen of the Chapter discharge their duties impartially, accurately, faithfully, promptly, and shall enforce the strict observance of the laws of Delta Sigma Pi. He shall have such other duties and powers as may be prescribed in the laws of Delta Sigma Pi.

The Vice-President of Chapter Operations shall plan all social, professional, and community service events for the year. He shall also be in charge of coordinating events with other alumni and undergraduate chapters. He’ll work with the Social Media/Communications Coordinator and VP-Collegiate Relations to promote events accordingly. He will collect dues from current alumni and maintains the database of contact information for these members. He will work with the Secretary for all correspondence with Central Office, along with submitting the annual award application to Central Office. He shall have such other powers and duties as may be prescribed in the laws of Delta Sigma Pi.

The Vice-President of Collegiate Relations shall be responsible for maintaining the fraternal relationship with local undergraduate members, and encourage them to become alumni members upon graduation. He will work with the VP-Chapter Operations to inform undergraduate members of upcoming chapter events, in an effort to build our relationship with them. This includes each chapter’s President and VP-Alumni Relations. He also contacts undergraduate chapters for lists of graduates, and follows up with those students on joining the alumni chapter. He shall have such other powers and duties as may be prescribed in the laws of Delta Sigma Pi.

The Vice-President of Finance shall receive and expend upon duly authorized orders all monies of the Chapter, and shall keep an accurate account of same in the alumni chapter accounting system prescribed by the Board of Directors of Delta Sigma Pi. He and the President of the Chapter shall sign all checks issued by the Chapter, except that a third alternate signature as approved by the Board may be substituted for the President in emergencies. He shall supply such reports as may be requested by The Central Office of Delta Sigma Pi without unreasonable delay. He shall be placed under a fidelity bond for such sum as is deemed advisable in the opinion of the Board of Directors of Delta Sigma Pi, which bond shall be taken out by the Chapter and the cost of same paid for by the Chapter. Report at the Annual Meeting a year-end review of the chapter, including Income Statement and Balance Sheet. The review will include a list of Life Time Brothers. He shall have other such powers and duties as may be prescribed in the laws of Delta Sigma Pi.

The Past President shall become an immediate member of the Board and shall carry out all duties and responsibilities as requested by the President. He will be responsible for recruiting members to run for officer positions the following term. (Non-electable)

The Secretary shall record the minutes of all Board and Membership meetings of this Chapter. He shall read into the minutes of the meetings all official correspondence, and assist the VP – Chapter Operations in all correspondence with the Central Office of Delta Sigma Pi, the Board of Directors of Delta Sigma Pi and with all local District Directors of Delta Sigma Pi. It shall be his duty to supply such reports as may be requested by the Central Office of Delta Sigma Pi without unreasonable delay. He will also coordinate with the VP-Chapter Operations in submitting the annual Award application to Central Office. He shall have such other powers and duties as may be prescribed in the laws of Delta Sigma Pi.

The Social Media/Communications Coordinator shall work closely with the VP-Chapter Operations in keeping the Chapter and local undergraduate members updated on events and happenings via social media (ex: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn), the monthly email newsletter and Chapter website, along with any other promotional communications that are deemed necessary throughout the year. This position shall be elected or appointed at the annual meeting, but is not a member of the Board.
