Fair St. Louis

Fair St. Louis
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO VOLUNTEER FOR 2010 FAIR ST. LOUIS.  CHECK BACK LATER FOR MORE DETAILS ON 2011 FAIR ST. LOUIS.

SLAC’s premier fundraiser is our concessions tent at Fair St. Louis in Downtown St. Louis.

We are seeking volunteers to work this event. We would like to invite any alumni and collegiate Brothers over the age of 21 to help. For each hour you work, your chapter will share in the total revenues.

Some things to know before your shift:

1)       Parking:  Is on your own. Recommended locations are Laclede’s Landing or any of the garages on 4th Street.
2)       Metrolink:  The last trains departing Arch-Lacledes’s Station are
a.  Westbound Train to Shrewsbury/I-44 departs at 12:00 am
b.   Westbound Train to LambertAirport departs Arch at 12:10 am
c.     Eastbound Train to Shiloh/Scott departs at 11:44 am
d.     Eastbound Train to FairviewHeights departs at 12:44 am
3)       Location:  Our booth will be located at the South leg of the Arch.  See attached map: FairSTLMap.
4)       Dress:  You will be asked to wear a Budweiser T-Shirt which you will receive once you arrive. If you have one from previous years, please wear it. Closed-toed Shoes are required (no open-toe or flip-flops). Deltasig Hats are recommended.
5)       Sign In and Sign Out:  You must sign in and sign out with a supervisor before and after your shift in order to get credit for your hours worked.
6)       Duties:  Selling beer and soda to the general public, re-stocking tubs, assisting with treasury. If you are under 21, you are NOT allowed to handle alcohol.
7)       Inventory:  Beer and Soft Drinks are in 24 oz plastic bottles, with a screw top cap that MUST NOT be left on the bottle. A closed container is a package, and we do not have a package license.
8)       Carding:  Anyone who remotely looks to be under 35 is to be carded. Any issues see your supervisor.
9)       Drinks/Snacks:  SLAC will provide snacks, water, and other beverages for your enjoyment. You may not consume a drink while working.
10)    Tips:  We will have Tip jars to encourage customers to give tips. All tips will be added to the total revenue earned.
11)   Payment:  Our commission is 20% of what we sell. SLAC divides the sum of the commission and tips by the total hours. Chapters get the total number of their workers’ hours times the hourly rate. SLAC gets paid on or about Aug 19th and we will try to get the Chapters their checks before Sept 21st.
